“We’ve opened up portals all over the world”…States the Faun in the Guillermo del Toro movie Pan’s Labyrinth. This statement always strikes me, words that ring true and land into body with a sharp clarity.

The Purpose of Witchcraft

Maybe it is because of my Capricorn nature, but I have a strong impulse to ask what is the purpose behind the magic I am doing. I want what I do to be meaningful, not in an overly serious way, just in a neutral way that gives me a sense of purpose and direction in my spiritual work.

Some of us get into magic to enhance our personal or individual experiences, but many of us get into it because a deep well within us is stirring, calling us to be in service to the spirit of the earth. It can start as a quiet or loud hunger in childhood or perhaps this longing grows into a raging fire at some critical moment in adulthood. We will know it is time when it is time.

There will be something gnawing in the back of our minds, we have work to do, something fated. A calling that is woven with witch’s work and the magic, healing, and powers of the Earth.

Witches, Faeries, and Portals?

As my magical work with the Fae has developed over the years, I have realized that this line from Pan’s Labyrinth about opening portals all over the world can be applied to the real life work of witches. And maybe even point to some practical purpose we are serving.

The way back and forth to Faery requires an opening, a passageway between our world and theirs. These can be anywhere. We can construct them, but they can also be a state of mind or a physical location where power has gathered.

I’m not open to putting the techniques for portal opening here on the internet, but it is something I’ve been honing for years at the direction of the spirits. While the bigger vision of the ‘why’ isn’t exactly answerable at this juncture for me, I am trusting the process.

I desire, and hopefully my heart’s intentions support this, that what comes through these ‘portals’ is something the world needs.

So what is coming through these witch’s portals? I guess that depends on the type of spirits that each witch is called to work with…

The magic of the frequency of Blue

Some of the beings I work with in my magic appear to my psychic and dream vision with blue skin. I wonder who else out there is working with this particular set of fae beings? They are very ancient and seem to be carrying a beautiful vibration of blue magic.

As I continue to work their magic into the fabric of this realm. There is something very heart-centered, deeply kind, and nourishing about these entities. While I know navigating with faeries can have their tricky moments, I do have a strong sense that this particular group of Fae are working on something specific in regards to the re-enchantment of the land and ourselves.

I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on this? I would love to get other people’s perspectives.
